http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1017504 Bug ID: 1017504 Summary: Resume from disk: "signature verifying failed" Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: Leap 42.2 Hardware: x86-64 OS: openSUSE 42.2 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel Assignee: kernel-maintainers@forge.provo.novell.com Reporter: friedhelm.stappert@web.de QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:50.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/50.0 Build Identifier: Hibernate / resume works sometimes on my machine (ThinkPad E545), but in most cases the machine freezes during resume, after loading the image. After changing the grub kernel parameters to "splash=verbose no_console_suspend", I can see some messages from PM during resume: PM: Image loading progress: 0% .. PM: Image loading progress: 100% PM: Signature verifying failed: -19 PM: Bypass verification on non-EFI machine PM: Read 2250956 kbytes in 14.98 seconds (150.26 MB/s) These are the last messages I see. And then, the machine is just dead. I can only switch it off the hard way. Note that I do not use EFI boot, it is disabled in the BIOS. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. Switch to hibernate mode: Chose the corresponding entry from the Start Menu, or call "systemctl hibernate", or call "echo disk > /sys/power/state". 2. Push the power button to wake up. Actual Results: System freezes after loading the image. Expected Results: System wakes up normally. I have tried the different test modes of hibernation (freezer, devices, platform, core) as described here: https://www.kernel.org/doc/Documentation/power/basic-pm-debugging.txt They all work fine. The problem occurs only when an image is written to and restored from disk. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
