https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=403659 User Markus.Kuhn@cl.cam.ac.uk added comment https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=403659#c1 Markus Kuhn <Markus.Kuhn@cl.cam.ac.uk> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Severity|Major |Normal Summary|Firefox 3 reports free(): invalid pointer and |Firefox 3 reports free(): invalid pointer and |hangs |hangs if LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/lib:/usr/lib --- Comment #1 from Markus Kuhn <Markus.Kuhn@cl.cam.ac.uk> 2008-06-28 16:41:06 MDT --- I just noticed that the problem is triggered by the environment variable LD_LIBRARY_PATH in my environment having the value "/lib:/usr/lib". To reproduce the problem, try the bash command: $ LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/lib:/usr/lib firefox As a workaround, I can use e.g. $ unset LD_LIBRARY_PATH $ firefox With this workaround now known, I no longer class this as a major bug. But still, previous releases of firefox did not have any problems with LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/lib:/usr/lib, which is according to "man ld.so" identical to the default behavior. So a fix would still be nice eventually. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
