https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=211857#c7 Mike Wells <mike_wells@cox.net> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- CC| |mike_wells@cox.net --- Comment #7 from Mike Wells <mike_wells@cox.net> 2007-08-05 08:33:30 MST --- In addition to extremely slow access (r/w) it would appear (at least on my 2 machines) that the 'sync' option under the mount command has NO effect (this was not the case in 9.3). I am running 10.2 GM x86(i386) and x86-64 and the 'fstab' entries are identical "/dev/fd0 /media/floppy auto noauto, user, sync 0 0". Directory conflict arises between KDE 'system:/media (floppy)' and '/media/floppy' because the floppy drive is NOT being accessed for each and every operation and the two are not kept in sync. Therefore, if files are removed from the floppy via '/media/floppy' they will still show up in 'system:/media (floppy)' as a result of caching instead of the FAT being accessed on the floppy like it should be. BTW, it took over 5 minutes to write a 365KB text file to floppy via Console. Can not even be done via KDE due to stalling and the transfer rate starting extremely low and going lower until stalling again. This behavior exhibits itself (via the file transfer window) on each and every write operation where the file size is bigger than a grain of sand! -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
