https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=195835 andreas.hanke@gmx-topmail.de changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Status|RESOLVED |REOPENED Component|Other |Other Product|SUSE Linux 10.1 |openSUSE 10.2 Resolution|FIXED | Version|Final |Alpha 4 ------- Comment #9 from andreas.hanke@gmx-topmail.de 2006-09-13 12:41 MST ------- I am not happy with these changes. - Warning to stdout if ftdump is missing: OK. - Mention ftdump in the comment above GENERATE_GHOSTSCRIPT_FONTMAPS: OK. - Mention ftdump in the man page: OK. - Add "Recommends: ft2demos" to fonts-config.spec: not OK. - Add "Supplements: fonts-config" to ft2demos.spec: not OK. Reason: These new "weak" dependencies are not "weak" at all, YaST handles "Recommends" exactly like "Requires" during installation! These changes are causing ft2demos to be installed by default on all systems even though GENERATE_GHOSTSCRIPT_FONTMAPS defaults to "no". Package ft2demos just sits there and does nothing. It is completely unused in a default installation. I propose removing "Supplements: fonts-config" from ft2demos.spec completely and downgrading "Recommends: ft2demos" to "Suggests: ft2demos" in fonts-config.spec. This is sufficient because the only way to enable GENERATE_GHOSTSCRIPT_FONTMAPS is editing /etc/sysconfig/fonts-config and there is already a useful hint exactly there. This will remove one unused package from the default installation. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
