--- Comment #1 from Robert Schweikert 2012-11-19 15:36:23 UTC ---
Manually removing the package fails with the following:
# rpm -e rsyslog
/var/tmp/rpm-tmp.1wAQDc: line 10: /etc/init.d/syslog: No such file or directory
error: %preun(rsyslog-6.4.0-1.1.x86_64) scriptlet failed, exit status 127
error: rsyslog-6.4.0-1.1.x86_64: erase failed
Thus it appears that rsyslog is looking for /etc/init.d/syslog which possibly
has been removed by syslog-service.
The result is that the user is stuck with a package that cannot be removed from
the DB, and the files remain.
