http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=526780 Summary: lot of drop-outs in sound Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: Milestone 4 Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Sound AssignedTo: tiwai@novell.com ReportedBy: sbrabec@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- I have just installed openSUSE 11.2 milestone 4 with GNOME desktop and default setup, x86_64. I am experiencing a lot of drop-outs. Even on a minimal system load, standard operation like clicking to panel or message in IM cause about 500 msec drop-out. Even on idle computer (with Firefox, evolution and pidgin running) drop-outs happen pretty often. On a system with load average: 0.26, 0.35, 0.37 the drop out rate is one about 500 msec drop-out per about 30 sec. It is a regression in comparison to older openSUSE versions, where drop-out happened only on high system load. I am opening a bug, as it makes even plain hobby listening uncomfortable. Players tested: totem, rhythmbox Sound card: VIA 8237 with ALC655 Please let me know, what kind of debugging data should be provided. Syslog contains hundreds of following messages, console output is clean: Jul 30 16:00:24 hammer pulseaudio[21018]: ratelimit.c: 7 events suppressed Jul 30 16:00:24 hammer pulseaudio[21018]: alsa-sink.c: Increasing minimal latency to 676,00 ms Jul 30 16:00:24 hammer pulseaudio[21018]: alsa-sink.c: Increasing wakeup watermark to 665,99 ms Jul 30 16:00:48 hammer pulseaudio[21018]: alsa-sink.c: Increasing minimal latency to 686,00 ms Jul 30 16:00:48 hammer pulseaudio[21018]: alsa-sink.c: Increasing wakeup watermark to 675,99 ms Jul 30 16:01:18 hammer pulseaudio[21018]: alsa-sink.c: Increasing minimal latency to 696,00 ms Jul 30 16:01:18 hammer pulseaudio[21018]: alsa-sink.c: Increasing wakeup watermark to 685,99 ms Jul 30 16:02:20 hammer pulseaudio[21018]: alsa-sink.c: Increasing minimal latency to 706,00 ms Jul 30 16:02:20 hammer pulseaudio[21018]: alsa-sink.c: Increasing wakeup watermark to 695,99 ms -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
