https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=222047 Summary: installation aborted after rpm checksum error (CD read error?) && grub setup broken Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Beta 2 Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: koenig@linux.de QAContact: jsrain@novell.com i386 installation from CDs: on CD2 I got some "checksum errror" for package v4l-conf (checked the CD, was ok before and after, so it might be some spurious read error on old DVD drive). I tried to ignore/continue but yast2 immediately aborted complete, with fallback to text mode linuxrc after one more yast2 message box ("I failed -- I'm dying"). even WORSE: after that happend, the GRUB boot setup of the PC was completely hosed: no single boot entry was available anymore (there was a 10.1 installation on hda1, 10.2 beta-2 is on hda2) bug #222031 increased the trouble: without rescue system I had to start over and redo the whole installation :-( on the 2nd installation run I had no CD problems, installation went ok (modulo oterh bugs & reports;--) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
