https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=439078 Summary: sbawe - System freeze during audio playback Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Final Platform: 32bit OS/Version: openSUSE 11.0 Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: Sound AssignedTo: tiwai@novell.com ReportedBy: felipemazzi@yahoo.com.br QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- I have a Sound Blaster AWE 64 ISA sound card, automatically detected e configured by openSUSE 11. I only have had to add my user account to the audio group in order to play audio. When I use any application for audio playback, the system completely freeze. Both keyboard mouse and sound card stops working, requiring a reboot. Sometimes the system freeze after some seconds of playback, sometimes take minutes, sometimes it happens when I run another application while playing. I guess the problem is related with hard disk access, because it happens only with the installed version. When I run the livecd version the problem doesn't occur. My sound card works very well with openSUSE 10.2 and older versions. On openSUSE 10.3 I had the same problem. I tried other distros, like Fedora versions 7 8 and 9, and the same problem occurs. That makes me guess that the problem could be related to the kernel version, because openSUSE 10.2 use kernel version 2.6.18 and the other mentioned distros uses newer versions of kernel. Thanks in advance. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
