Problem is that during update you attach some disk (usb, card reader) and disk is changed so sda is newly attached disk, sdb is raid (without visible partition) and sdc is direct disk. Because in device map is sda and sdb it is mapped to bad disks. This is already fixed in opensuse 11.1, where we use persistent names from udev. But this cannot be backported to 11.0 as it is really big change, because it have own problems which we must solve, so it is lot of code (also in storage).
