https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=327032 Summary: Correction of network settings leads to a fail of writeing network settings Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: RC 1 Platform: 32bit OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Minor Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: juergen.helmers@charite.de QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: --- Hi! I was installing the RC1 KDE install cd using a DHCP network server that also requires a proxy. During installation I chose to setup the network, chose DHCP but failed to specify the required proxy settings. The installation tried to access the network and after one minute or so I pressed "Cancel" as the only option available to be able to go back one step to specify the missing proxy settings. I was able to get out of the dialog and went back and did specify the proxy settings, I then got an error, that the network settings could not be written. I also tried to go back even further in the installation routine all the way to the question, whether I wanted to set up the network in the first place. Same results. I rebooted and specified the proxy right away and the network was found immedeatley. So only if one make the mistake to forget aboutthe proxy and trys to correct it, setting up the network fails...
