https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=207288 Summary: The size of packages shown on the website does not correspond to the reality Product: openSUSE.org Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: BuildService AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: dominique.leuenberger@tmf-group.com QAContact: adrian@novell.com The WebSite shows a bigger package size to download than the packet is. Example: http://repos.opensuse.org/home:/AdrianSuSE/SUSE_Linux_10.1/repodata/repoview... On the website it says, the package (arch: x86_64) is 28.32MiB (so in Mebibyte) and the downloadsize of the RPM is just a bit more than 15.5MB Megabyte Maybe it's just a conversation between MiB and MB, but the two numbers should usually be relativley close (and here we're almost factor 2 away) 1 Mebibyte (MiB) = 2^20 Bytes = 1048576 bytes 1 Megabyte (MB) = 10^6 Bytes = 1000000 bytes So for the file above with 15.5 MB this would give a size of 14.78MiB I hope something out of this is understandable. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
