Sorry for being tardy, was on a business trip (and took the USB cable to the
phone with me to go online with it :)) Checked the packages you mentioned: They
seem to be pretty old (30th September). Installed them and tried the same
procedure with DUN. Got exactly the same error message as before: "Error: timed
out detecting phone details"
Tried both: Just switching Bluetooth on on the phone and re-using my old BT
configuration. Nothing happened. Then removed the phone and re-paired the
devices. Checking DUN - just the same non-working situation.
There are/were a couple of other issues with the NetworkManager applet:
* After a while the WLAN connection might get established but without changing
the icon in the status bar top left (after rebooting I get the WLAN signal
strength icon if connected, after a couple of suspends-resumes I often get just
the "..." indicating that the connection is established
* Sometimes (especially with weaker signals) I often get the password dialog
(the GNOME system "blackish one") for secured networks several times (and then
without the password filled in) and after clicking it away the grayish network
manager dialog with the password filled in.
* Sometimes I have to explicitly switch-off, on the WLAN to get connected after
resume.
I will monitor these issues with the version installed.
