https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=851720 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=851720#c2 --- Comment #2 from Johannes Meixner <jsmeix@suse.com> 2013-12-03 16:41:29 CET --- sane-backends version 1.0.24 is now available for various openSUSE versions for 32-bit i586 and 64-bit x86_64 platforms from the openSUSE build service develoment project "graphics" for direct binary RPM download from http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/graphics/ Do not use "Factory" if your system is not "Factory". Use the matching packages for your particular system. The packages in the "graphics" development project are only for testing, without any guarantee or warranty, and without any support. As an extreme example, this means if your complete computer center crashes because of those packages, it is only your problem. On the other hand this does not mean that those packages are known to be terrible broken but they are not thoroughly tested so that any unexpected issue can happen. Regarding the current support status of the "Fujitsu ScanSnap iX500": It is listed in the sane-backends 1.0.24 source file doc/descriptions/fujitsu.desc as follows (lng line wrapped here): ----------------------------------------------------------------------- :model "ScanSnap iX500" :interface "USB WiFi" :status :good :usbid "0x04c5" "0x132b" :comment "small, current, WiFi not supported. Hardware only scans in color. Backend generates binary and grayscale modes." ----------------------------------------------------------------------- I.e. do not expect too much. Philip Tait, I assume you are a venturous openSUSE user who likes to try out if sane-backends version 1.0.24 from the OBS "graphics" development project actually works for your scanner model (I cannot test it because I do not have such a scanner model). In this case please report whether or not it works for you (you can add comments to this bug regardless that it is closed as "invalid" - i.e. there is no need to reopen it only to provide feedback). -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
