This is not right then. Why should u have any issues with law by enabling DHT?
The decision to deactivate DHT in torrent clients was taken in light of uncertainty not only in the United States, but also in other jurisdictions, with respect to copyright infringement (indirect/contributory etc). Particularly in Germany, the legal situation is far from clear.
All other distros ship ktorrent with DHT and havent seen anyone in jail.
This is not reason enough for a corporate entity such as Novell, Inc to ignore the above referenced legal uncertainty.
On the other hand u take a neat torrent client and u cripple it and make it the worst torretn client. This is no respect for ktorrent's authors.
Agreed. Unfortunately, this is the result of the risk assessment.
If it is going to be crippled dont ship it or rename it "opensuse criplled ktorrent".
This is a matter for the maintainer of the package. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
