I rebooted the system before running the commands. Below are the information on the result. I am attaching the alsa-info.txt I got. ================================================ uuuuuuu:~ # rpm -qa | grep alsa alsa-1.0.19.git20090304-2.1 alsa-firmware-1.0.19.git20090120-2.1 alsa-oss-1.0.17.git20080715-2.23 alsa-utils-1.0.19.git20090221-1.4 alsa-plugins-1.0.19.git20090303-1.8 alsa-driver-kmp-pae-1.0.19.20090306_2.6.27.19_3.2-1.1 uuuuuuu:~ # rpm -qa | grep pulse libpulse0-0.9.12-9.6 libpulsecore4-0.9.12-9.6 uuuuuuu:~ # rpm -q libasound2 libasound2-1.0.19.git20090304-2.1 uuuuuuu:~ # cat /etc/modprobe.d/sound options snd slots=snd-hda-intel # M71A.k5JPLyF5+X5:MCP67 High Definition Audio alias snd-card-0 snd-hda-intel uuuuuuu:~ # uname -a Linux uuuuuuu 2.6.27.19-3.2-pae #1 SMP 2009-02-25 15:40:44 +0100 i686 athlon i386 GNU/Linux uuuuuuu:~ # arecord -d 10 myrecording.wav Recording WAVE 'myrecording.wav' : Unsigned 8 bit, Rate 8000 Hz, Mono uuuuuuu:~ # aplay myrecording.wav Playing WAVE 'myrecording.wav' : Unsigned 8 bit, Rate 8000 Hz, Mono ====> Got sound with noise and very low volume uuuuuuu:~ # arecord -d 10 -f cd mysecondrecording.wav Recording WAVE 'mysecondrecording.wav' : Signed 16 bit Little Endian, Rate 44100 Hz, Stereo uuuuuuu:~ # aplay mysecondrecording.wav Playing WAVE 'mysecondrecording.wav' : Signed 16 bit Little Endian, Rate 44100 Hz, Stereo ====> Got sound with very low volume (however higher than myrecording.wav) uuuuuuu:~ # /usr/sbin/alsa-info.sh --no-upload =============================================== After that I then installed the "nvidia-gfxG02-kmp-pae", run as root the "nvidia-xconfig" and rebooted. The system did not rebooted into X, and I logged in as root tried "startx" and the answer was something as "no screen found" and some error message more. I then run "nvidia-xconfig" again and got the same result "no screen found" I then rebooted in safe mode got the KDE but not nvidia. I am sending this to you before trying once again the installation of "nvidia-gfxG02-kmp-pae". The Mic stopped working!!! -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
