https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=470895 Summary: Novell Client for Linux beta for openSUSE11.1 has issues compiling kernel modules at boot Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Final Platform: i586 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.1 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Other AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: roger@opq.se QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.0.5) Gecko/2008121300 SUSE/3.0.5-2.5 Firefox/3.0.5 The Novell Client for Linux beta for openSUSE11.1 has issues compiling kernel modules at boot. The the system boots, it seems that a kernel module needs to be recompiled. I get the following errors: CC [M] /opt/novell/ncl/src/novfs/daemon.o /opt/novell/ncl/src/novfs/daemon.c:39:27: error: asm/semaphore.h: No such file or directory /opt/novell/ncl/src/novfs/daemon.c: In function 'Daemon_Dumpque': /opt/novell/ncl/src/novfs/daemon.c:2393: error: request for member 'counter' in something not a structure or union make[3]: *** [/opt/novell/ncl/src/novfs/daemon.o] Error 1 make[2]: *** [_module_/opt/novell/ncl/src/novfs] Error 2 make[1]: *** [sub-make] Error 2 make: *** [all] Error 2 make: Leaving directory `/usr/src/linux-2.6.27.7-9-obj/i386/debug' Error: Build Failed. I think this must come from my installation of the beta Novell Client for Linux for openSUSE11.1 (novell-client-2.0.0-28), or one of the RPMs it brings with it. I am using kernel-pae (2.6.27.7-9.1), and the kernel sources are installed. I have not tried any other kernel modules, so maybe it is not really NCL that is the problem. But that is where the issue shows up for me. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install NCL beta for openSUSE 11.1 2. Reboot 3. The messages will show up during boot. Actual Results: Kernel module does not get rebuilt for current kernel. Expected Results: Kernel module should get rebuilt. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
