Indeed but playing with stuff in /etc during package update is usually not a good idea so I would be tempted to leave it unless the user is hit by the systemd race issue and in this case we can ask him to remove the symlink manually.
I fully agree on the above. However this is not a usual case. IIRC keeping the symlink and removing the install section will result in a runtime error for everybody updating.
