Many packages in the base system require libldap. (pwdutils, sudo, cups, autofs just to name a few). I don't think that this is really worth the effort. The dependencies of postfix could however be reduced a bit. It seems postfix.spec requires "openldap-client" by name. That should not be needed. The openldap libs are in the libldap-2_4 package nowadays and that dependency would be created automatically by rpm during buildtime. That package only contains the libs and should be quite a bit smaller then openldap2-client.
