https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=340603 Summary: It's dificult to use skype (no microphone input with) Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Mac OS X 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Sound AssignedTo: tiwai@novell.com ReportedBy: nice@titanic.nyme.hu QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Other This bug may be the same as Bug 245679 but I'm not totally sure. My machine is a Compaq nc6320 incorporating 82801G (ICH 7 family) chipset. So far sometimes(!) I had to adjust my audio settings by alsamixer in order to ba able to use microphone capture and thus skype. I attach a windows snapsot of alsamixer. You can see on the picture that the recording was enabled for the docking station and capture level was zero in spite of the fact that earlier I enabled the recording for the microphone and set the capture level to about 80%. In spite of this my settings were sometimes changed (I don't know what chenged them). Sometimes only the recording "went" form the microphone to the docking station (to tell the truth I actually use a docking station), but other times the capture level dropped to zero too. I can only use alsamixer since KMix of KDE seems to be unable to control or even monitor the capture level. (Alsamixergui also seem to be unable to some tasks, for example mutind Caller-ID or off-hook). I would advised you to include some workarond for this inconvenience, for example in the startup scripts but today (09.11.2007) - as usually I do - I upgraded my system via openSUSE uptader, and my microphone capture problem changer somewhat. (The updates include the kernel version 2.6.22.12-0.1.) Now alsamixer seems to work, but even when I set the mixer correctly, there is no microphone capture. I cannot use skype anymore:( -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
