So - for the record here, I replaced the function elan_check_ASUS_special_fw
with just:
static int elan_check_ASUS_special_fw(struct elan_tp_data *data) {
return true;
}
and rebuilt the module, but I see the same behaviour.
After about three minutes, the pointer gets frozen and the following in the
logs:
2017-03-27T15:21:48.859477+01:00 jubjub kernel: [ 199.352519] elan_i2c
i2c-ELAN0600:00: invalid report id data (ff)
I have sent hardware details to KT Liao.
