To get a more recent CUPS version for Leap you may use RPMs from the openSUSE Build Service (OBS) development project "Printing", see the project info at https://build.opensuse.org/project/show/Printing which reads (excerpt): -------------------------------------------------------- The "Printing" development project may contain new software or work-in-progress changes of existing software that might neither be in a stable state nor fit well into currently installed systems. Have this in mind if you think about to install packages from the "Printing" project into your currently running system. Do not use "Factory" if your system is not "Factory". Use the matching packages for your particular system. The packages in the "Printing" project are without any guarantee or warranty and without any support. As an extreme example, this means if your complete computer center crashes because of those packages, it is only your problem. On the other hand this does not mean that those packages are known to be terrible broken but they are not thoroughly tested so that any unexpected issue can happen. In the end all software in the "Printing" project are only applications which means that your system should not "explode" when you upgrade with packages from the "Printing" project (provided you use the matching packages for your particular system). If a new version does not work it should usually help to downgrade (and to reconfigure as needed) to get it working again. -------------------------------------------------------- Currently the OBS development project "Printing" provides CUPS 2.4.11 for Leap 15.6 which you may get e.g. as RPM packages for the x86_64 architecure from http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/Printing/15.6/x86_64/ Alternatively if you need in general recent software versions, use openSUSE Tumbleweed, see https://www.opensuse.org/ In particular openSUSE Tumbleweed currently provides the same CUPS version 2.4.11 as in the OBS development project "Printing". Regardless that the issue here is not invalid I can only close this bug report as "invalid" because "the problem described is not a bug", see https://bugzilla.suse.com/page.cgi?id=status_resolution_matrix.html because the CUPS version in Leap 15 is the one that is intended for Leap in general - i.e. the one from SLES 15. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
