So, here I am. I do not recall the kernel version of the original report; whatever was released for late Oct 2012. current version: linux v3.4.33-2.24-desktop x86_64) So far two systems (of 5) have shown the tendency to freeze during boot. The freeze occurs immediately after loading the microcode. The chance of a freeze is about 50%. Oct 28 19:47:08 linux kernel: [ 2.268561] [drm] Loading RS780 Microcode ... bunch o' stuff ... Boot computer 2. Hope it completes Actual Results: This is apparently a timing issue of some sort. The computer that shows the worst case will not boot when cold; allow it to warm for minute then a hard restart usually works. Yet it fails to boot when fully warmed up, say, a restart after updates. Then a bit of cooling time is needed. But not too much. Ack! Expected Results: It completes booting up normally. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
