In particular see "If printer setup fails" at https://en.opensuse.org/SDB:How_to_Report_a_Printing_Issue
This is not a printing problem per se. This is a system or repository problem where the printer driver database is missing or incomplete. Were you unable to reproduce the problem? Here's how you can try this on your end: 1. Install OpenSUSE Leap 15.0 from the following media: openSUSE-Leap-15.0-DVD-x86_64.iso In my case, this was done on a Lenovo Thinkpad T450, but I also tried the same thing on an HP ProBook 4430s. The platform should be irrelevant. 2. Configure online repositories. 3. Install GNOME desktop 4. Log in after the install is complete. 5. Go to Print Settings 5. Unlock 6. Add (a printer) 7. Select AppSocket/HP JetDirect and provide a correct IP address. 8. Click "Forward". 9. Select HP (in my case). 10. Click "Forward". 11. Select LaserJet (in my case). 12. Notice that only one (apparently token) printer driver is listed in this category. As noted in my original bug report: The complete printer driver database appears to be missing. This was present in the Leap 15.0 Beta, but is missing from the official distribution. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
