https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=391814 Summary: Yast2 - Printer Config crashes when adding a networked printer. Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Beta 3 Platform: i586 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.0 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: YaST2 AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: accounts@guardiansrealm.net QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: Beta-Customer OpenSuse 11.0-Beta-3 Installed from Gnome-LiveCD Arch: x86 Printer: Brother MFC-7820N Overview: I'm trying to install my printer for direct-local-network printing. The Yast Printer-Configuration-Manager repeatedly crashes at the same step with a detailed error message (below). Printer does NOT get installed. Steps To Reproduce: - Click 'Printer' in YaST Control Center (i'm using gnome desktop) - Select 'Pritners and Queues', click 'Add' - Select 'Network Printers' - Select 'Print directly to a network printer' - Select 'Direct TCP Port Printing' - In 'Hostname of Printer', I typed the IP address ( No local DNS right now). - Click 'Test Remote Socket Access' ==> Returns "The Print Server Is Accessible" ==> The printer's LCD lights up and displays "receiving data", as expected. - (click 'Next' again) - "Queue Name", I tried filling in the blanks or accepting defaults, no difference. Then click 'Next' (last time). -* "Printer Queue Edit Dialog" - Clicking any tab, or the next button crashes the program and the error message below pops up in an x-window.
