https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=464549 Summary: ID 0ac8:303b Webcam doesn't work Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.1 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: fisiu82@gmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Community User openSUSE 11.1 x86_64 2.6.27.7-9-default Webcam (details in attachment): ID 0ac8:303b Z-Star Microelectronics Corp. ZC0303 Webcam There is no possibility to run this webcam in openSUSE 11.1. It worked in 11.0 using gspca driver. hwinfo shows this device should use "zc0301" module. After "# modprobe zc0301" dmesg shows: Linux video capture interface: v2.00 zc0301: V4L2 driver for ZC0301[P] Image Processor and Control Chip v1:1.10 usb 1-7: ZC0301[P] Image Processor and Control Chip detected (vid/pid 0x0AC8:0x303B) usb 1-7: No supported image sensor detected usbcore: registered new interface driver zc0301 Now, I know this device should work fine with gspca drivers (incuded in kernel). So I unloaded "zc0301" and then loaded "gspca_zc3xx" After "# modprobe gspca_zc3xx" dmesg shows: gspca: main v2.2.0 registered usbcore: registered new interface driver zc3xx zc3xx: registered But there is still no video device under /dev.
