http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1188970 http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1188970#c88 --- Comment #88 from Ricardo Lopez Caballero <ricardo-lopez-caballero@toshibagcs.com> --- (In reply to guek wu neo from comment #87)
The blacklisting of the udl modules helps user to complete the installation while the secondary displaylink monitor is attached.
However, it does not enable the displaylink monitor.
After installation, rebooting the system without boot parameter of 'module_blacklist=udl' does get the secondary displaylink monitor display turn on. But User will not be able to login to Desktop due to 'Wayland' as mentioned in comment#27.
In summary, we looking to address 2 issues here (1) installation successful even with displaylink monitor attached (WORK OUT OF BOX without the manual interference of disable then enable udl module)
(2) login successful without Wayland. (why Wayland a mandatory for server installation to support displaylink monitor?)
Hi Guek, during installation you select the Desktop for example GNOME and X11 and / or Wayland. You may check what you installed. The issue appears with X11. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
