https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=722833 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=722833#c0 Summary: Proprietary ATI driver 11.9 does not work with Opensuse 12.1 beta Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.1 Version: Beta 1 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: SuSE Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: X.Org AssignedTo: bnc-team-xorg-bugs@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: RalphEllis2001@netscape.net QAContact: xorg-maintainer-bugs@forge.provo.novell.com Found By: Beta-Customer Blocker: No I attempted to install the proprietary ATI/AMD driver. The Opensuse kernel sources were installed. The ATI/AMD installer reported no errors in both an automatic and custom install. amdconfig --initial produced the appropriate /etc/X11/xorg.conf file. In the next boot, Opensuse ends on a blank screen. This can be exited with Atl-CTL-F1 to get to a command line prompt. Removing the xorg.conf file allows booting to a normal graphical screen on reboot. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
