https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=804509 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=804509#c0 Summary: Feature request: YaST module for VNC should allow x11vnc (display :0) Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.3 Version: RC 1 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Enhancement Priority: P5 - None Component: YaST2 AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: me@kalenz.eu QAContact: jsrain@suse.com Found By: Community User Blocker: --- The current YaST module for VNC (remote administration) allows a user to set up Xvnc, which provides a virtual display :1 on port 5901 (or :2 on 5902, etc.), allowing a parallel graphical session from remote. Many Windows users will be accustomed to VNC allowing a remote user to "see what's happening on the [physical] monitor", in other words, remote access to display :0 through port 5900. This can be accomplished easily with x11vnc, available as a package in the openSUSE distribution. x11vnc can run from a SysV init script, with a password file from vncpassd similar to Xvnc. It would be great if the YaST VNC module also allowed a quick setup of x11vnc. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
