Does Compiz work for you? I don't know. Thats what I wanted to find out when I enabled "DRI" in xorg.conf and enabled desktop effects in kde.
Gee :). You are aware that Compiz is the other window/compositing manager and it is definitely not running when you enable the native KDE one? You can switch to it in the 'Default Applications' control module.
Does KWin work if in compositing options in Advanced you change the OpenGL mode from Texture From Pixmap to Shared Memory? Where do I make this change ?
In about the same place that you pointed out in the initial comment?
Also, just to make sure, compositing is not enabled by default for you, is it? How do I find out ?
By seeing whether it was running from the beginning or had to be explicitly enabled as described in the initial description (which I assume is the case, but it wasn't entirely clear to me whether it's not just pointing out where the option is)? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
