http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=555643 Summary: pulseaudio broken with VIA 8235 with ALC650E Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Sound AssignedTo: tiwai@novell.com ReportedBy: sbrabec@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- --- Comment #0 from Stanislav Brabec <sbrabec@novell.com> 2009-11-15 16:06:33 UTC --- Created an attachment (id=327607) hwinfo.lst I have a K7V333-X motherboard with an onboard VIA 8235 with ALC650E codec (PCI device id 1106:3059, standard 3-jack stereo). If I use pulseaudio, the sound is totally overexcited and unusable for some volumes. For example: volume at 6-11%: overexcited and unusable volume at 12%: OK volume at 13-15%: overexcited and unusable volume at 16-20%: OK volume 20% and above (at least to 30%): overexcited and unusable The overexcitation happens in pulseaudio, not the hardware. How to reproduce: aplay -fcd audio_01.wav plays with problems described above aplay -fcd -D hw:0 audio_01.wav always plays correctly -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
