https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=227420 nteknikk@monet.no changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- CC| |nteknikk@monet.no ------- Comment #3 from nteknikk@monet.no 2007-01-02 17:09 MST ------- I have the same problem here on 10.2 i386. After configuring Creative SB Audigy LS soundcard, I'm able to test the sound volume in YaST in my Creative 3-way speakers. However, there is confusing enough no volume set at all after the soundcard configuration. This is especially confusing for new users that easily will think the sound doesn't work. My suggestion is therefore to do as i.e on Ubuntu (I think), that is to set a default 50% volum level during the Audigy LS initial configuration. Another limit I've experienced is that only the Analog Front volum level looks to work, I don't know why. So to the primary bug. After the soundcard configuration, the speaker volum control icon on the Gnome panel, get a red labeled x. Trying to click on it, the error message tells (translated): "The volum controll didn't find any elements and/or devices to control. This means that you have not the right GStreamer-plugins installed or that you have not configured a soundcard." This fault isn't on 10.1 on the same hardware. To verify the Gstreamer packages installed default on 10.2: rpm -qa *gstreamer* gstreamer010-plugins-base-oil-0.10.10-8 gstreamer010-plugins-base-visual-0.10.10-8 gstreamer010-plugins-good-0.10.4-8 kaffeine-gstreamer-0.8.2-35 gstreamer010-0.10.10-8 gstreamer010-plugins-base-0.10.10-8 My current 10.1 installation where the sound speaker I have the same problem here on 10.2 i386.
