https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=736907 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=736907#c0 Summary: Authentication is required to hibernate the system Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.1 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: SuSE Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE4 Workspace AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: novell@lietar.eu QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:8.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/8.0 We are two users on my machine. I configured it to hibernate after 20min inactivity. I did so first only in my profile and then, since it was not working, in both. It never hibernates and when I come back to it, my profile, not the active one will have a prompt "Authentication is required to hibernate the system" for root password. Modifying the file /usr/share/polkit-1/actions/org.freedesktop.upower.policy as suggested elsewhere and setting both "allow" entries to "yes" didn't help. This goes against any energy saving purpose.
