All use Grub. One system is slow enough that I can read what happens after the hardware is identified. It is the line I mentioned, re ISOLINUX, that is displayed briefly, before continuing on with loading. On the failing system, I don't see anything else displayed after all the IRQs are listed. The boot process just stops at that point and all I can do is reboot.
