None of them works in openSuSE 11.2. dvgrab returns "No camera exists". I have tried to load the raw1394, dv1394 and video1394 and edit the udev rules as I searched the web for answers. Still it doesn't help. One of the firewire cards I have generates a lot of messages in /var/log/messages complainig "SelfID received but NodeID invalid" until I turn off the camcorder. I need more information how I can move on in this situation. Do I have firewire cards not supported by openSuSE ?
