http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=950906 Bug ID: 950906 Summary: Installer does not use all of free space when setting up encrypted LVM install Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: Leap 42.1 RC1 1 Hardware: 64bit OS: openSUSE 42.1 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation Assignee: yast2-maintainers@suse.de Reporter: cra1g321xmp@gmail.com QA Contact: jsrain@suse.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/46.0.2490.71 Safari/537.36 Build Identifier: Noticed that if i tell the installer to use the entire disk, then setup openSUSE install so its LVM-based and enecrypted, instead of using up all 1.5TB of free space for the /home XFS partition, it instead only uses 100GB. If i tell it to use the entire drive and NOT be LVM based, it will setup the home partition to use all the free space, but when i go into "Edit proprosal settings" and set it to be encrypted LVM, it goes from 1.5GB home to 100GB. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Follow installer until the partition setup screen. 2.Create Partition Setup 3. Select HDD 4. Edit Proposal Settings 5. Tick - Create LVM-based Proposal & Encrypt Volume Group, Setup Password Actual Results: Installer wants to only create a 100GB XFS partition for Home partition. Expected Results: Installer sets the Home partition to use all remaining free space of the HDD, after setting up all other partitions. Quick workaround is just going into the Expert Partitioner mode, Volume Management then click /home volume then Resize button then choose "max size" option. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
