https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=402908 Summary: suspend is broken on thinkpad r50e: on resume, the graphics aren't displayed properly Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Final Platform: i386 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.0 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Mobile Devices AssignedTo: zoz@novell.com ReportedBy: splitsch@gmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Hello! This bug report follws this one:https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=190481 I have a thinkpad r50e. here is the output of s2ram -n Machine unknown This machine can be identified by: sys_vendor = "IBM" sys_product = "1834BWG" sys_version = "ThinkPad R50e" bios_version = "1WET85WW (2.05 )" See http://en.opensuse.org/S2ram for details. I run a fully up-to-date opensuse 11, and I use the "intel" driver. I have a 855GM graphic card. You will find my worg.conf and the output of lspci attached. Whenever I try to suspend the computer, it works fine, but on resume, the graphic aren't displayed properly: the fonts are not displayed fine when I scroll (on firefox, for example) or whenever I move a windows, it is not redrew nicely. I've tried those parameter: #S2RAM_OPTS="-f --pci_save --vbe_save --vbe_post" #S2RAM_OPTS="-f -v" #S2RAM_OPTS="-f" #S2RAM_OPTS="-f -p -s" #S2RAM_OPTS="-f -p -m" #S2RAM_OPTS="-f --vbe_post" this one worked a few times, but not anymore: S2RAM_OPTS="-f --pci_save --vbe_save --vbe_mode" Here are the settings that works under Ubuntu 8.04: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/acpi-support/+bug/40621/comments/5... None of this worked, and I still have the messy screen. But the suspend operation works fine, and after resume, I'm able to use all the funtions of the computer: only the graphics are not displayed well. Do you have any clue on what to try ? I'm running out of option. I don't want to test all the paramaters, because there are to many combinations possible, and a missed resume means "hard-reboot", since even when I kill X, the graphics are not nice.
