I suppose indeed that I should have summarized it: For those that read this later, I am unable to install OpenSUSE Tumbleweed onto my Linx 1010 because its EFI is 32-bit, despite its CPU being 64-bit. To answer shundhammer@suse.com's question, the LINX 1010 is from approximately 2015, so it's not particularly old or new in my eyes, although definitely more old than new. However, more importantly, it runs Debian quickly, and had no problems with Windows 10 (until they removed its touchscreen driver from Windows Update). Additionally, considering that https://forums.opensuse.org/t/164192/4 demonstrates that installation of OSTW works well if the correct grub is generated, I can't see this being much of a problem. After all, there's little inherently old about a 32-bit system. Just like how some VAXes in the 80s used 256 bit bus sizes, some computers are better suited to 32-bits, if we ignore the glaring the software compatibility problems that it invokes without translation layers. Anyway, considering the aforementioned https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1178340, isn't this problem a regression? After all, that issue couldn't have been completed without 32-bit EFI support, surely? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
