Seven NICs in one machine, lots of rename failures. These also occur when the machine is being (re)installed in headless mode over SSH, then ofcourse leading to great confusion. A quick Google led me to a bug (and fix) report for Ubuntu: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/udev/+bug/416782 This may not cover the problem completely, though; while the proposed fix would avoid collisions on the temporary "_rename" device name, the real question is why that name lingered in the first place. The fix may therefore avoid difficulties with *subsequent* devices, but would not address the issue of the device remaining in limbo on which the rename first failed. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
