https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=877371 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=877371#c0 Summary: Czech ssh manpage is badly outdated Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 13.1 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Documentation AssignedTo: ke@suse.com ReportedBy: jmatejek@suse.com QAContact: ke@suse.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- many czech translations of manpages (the man-pages-cs package) are very old - for instance, the manpage for `free` is from 1993. This doesn't matter all that much for many basic tools. However, man-pages-cs includes translations for openssh suite, which are dated 1995. It is my opinion that using an almost 20 year old documentation for a tool as crucial as ssh is dangerous. AFAICT, man-pages-cs are installed by default on a system with Czech locale. Therefore, a czech administrator is, by default, presented with a 20 year old documentation. The ssh translations should either be updated, or dropped from the package completely. It is safer to have correct documentation in a foreign language, than to use documentation that is wrong or outdated, with no good indication of its age. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
