Does anyone know if the Huawei E160e usb modem will work with Open Suse 11.3?
I have an Asus PR050 Series laptop. What isp provide support for Linux to connect to the internet using a Huawei E160e modem?
They don't specify Linux on that page but I found that it works fine with Ubuntu 10.10. I just plugged it in and picked Australia and then Internode from the network manager.
I've reopened this bug to track the effort to get the Huawei E160e running in openSUSE. According to the comments in [1,2] the connection here requires network-manager 0.8.1-1 and ppp 2.4.5 . Updated openSUSE 11.3 includes these packages. Fastest way to find out would be to boot the openSUSE 11.3 Live DVD .
