Basically KDE can work without PA. For flash, libflashsupport should be clever enough not to start PA, but the detection might be still not working well. Try to uninstall libflashsupport. Note that alsa-plugins-pulse itself would do nothing unless you set up explicitly. It just allows you to use the pulse plugin. In the case of GNOME, it sets up the config file to use pulse as the default device, thus ALSA-native apps are automatically hooked by PA. The messages from hda_intel.c are (relatively) harmless and you can ignore them.
