There is no error message in console. Confusingly Gnome mixer says Mono is playing sound but nothing is heard. I contacted the developers of the game and they say all is OK under Ubuntu so it is OpenSUSE's problem. Other users of Ubuntu also say they experience no problem with sound in this game and there is something broken in OpenSUSE's Mono.
