As a preview of the new technology, you can create btrfs partitions or setup your whole system with btrfs. Note that the btrfs file system still lacks proper external check and repair tools (fsck) and thus in case of crashes, data recovery might not be possible. Thus we advise to not put critical data on the filesystem yet. Btrfs contains many interesting new features, including the ability to do snapshots of your filesystem. This is integrated into the package management tools of SUSE and YaST.
