https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=661682 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=661682#c0 Summary: samsung P560(probably most other models) - brightness, wifi and backlight managment Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.3 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.3 Status: NEW Severity: Enhancement Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: kernel-maintainers@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: elektrrrus@gmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Opera/9.80 (X11; Linux x86_64; U; pl) Presto/2.6.30 Version/10.63 Accroding to my previous report: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=486074 I have found solution. We need to compile kernel modules form this project: http://code.google.com/p/easy-slow-down-manager/ After loading samsung-backlight and easy_slow_down_manager we`re able to turn on/off backlight through /proc/easy_backlight, wifi trough /proc/easy_wifi_kill, manage over power saving (/proc/easy_slow_down_manager) and finally manage brightness by /sys/devices/virtual/backlight/samsung/brightness. Please add this module into openSUSE kernel and provide control over them by function keys. Can I help with this? What to do next to provide control over modules by function keys? Reproducible: Always Actual Results: Works controlled by console. Expected Results: Works controlled by function keys openSUSE 11.3, 2.6.34.7-0.5-desktop -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
