http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=958366 Bug ID: 958366 Summary: Remaining GDM after stopping the service Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Tumbleweed Version: 2015* Hardware: Other OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME Assignee: bnc-team-gnome@forge.provo.novell.com Reporter: tiwai@suse.com QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Start GDM and once login, and logout. Now GDM restarts itself. So far, so good. At this point, on VT1 or serial console, try to stop the service, e.g. "rcxdm stop". It cannot kill GDM any longer. My wild guess it that GDM spawns the session worker by itself and it's no longer manageable. You can kill the session worker manually to really kill the remaining GDM process. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
