You might be using Nvidia driver, right? s2disk seems to segfault when there is no framebuffer in order to show the splash screen. As a workaround, you can disable splash for s2disk setting splash to n in suspend.conf: /etc/suspend.conf: splash = n This will prevent s2disk to try to use splash and the crash will not occur.
