http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=516688 Summary: Open Office Quick Starter Cannot Load on X_64 Hardware Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.1 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: OpenOffice.org AssignedTo: bnc-team-ooo@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: alpha096@virginbroadband.com.au QAContact: kyu@novell.com Found By: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-GB; rv:1.9.0.10) Gecko/2009042700 SUSE/3.0.10-1.1.1 Firefox/3.0.10 Default Installation of KDE4.1 I went to System>Desktop Applet>Open Office Quickstarter The first before it loads the user gets a large amount of text discussing the benefits and discusses the minus being it takes up a small percentage of RAM. I clicked on O.K and the received an error stating it could not be loaded into resident RAM, however it sits in the system tray, with the resident option disabled. With the resident module disabled, I cannot see any justification for the applet to be present. The Open Office Quickstarter Applet has not functioned since X_64 was released in about version 10.2. I would suggest that it is either fixed or removed from the packing list. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.As Above 2. 3. Actual Results: Error Response - means that the Quick Starter will not load into resident RAM and is therefore useless Expected Results: It gets fixed or removed from X_64 Packing list.
