https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=329079 Summary: bogus gnome-settings warnings ... Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: RC 2 Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME AssignedTo: bnc-team-gnome@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: mmeeks@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- I am running gnome-settings daemon: $ ps ax | grep settings 5332 ? Sl 0:14 /usr/lib/control-center-2.0/gnome-settings-daemon And yet running eg. the 'Apperance' capplet throws up this warning: "Unable to start the settings manager 'gnome-settings-daemon'. Without the GNOME settings manager running, some preferences may not take effect. This could indicate a problem with Bonobo, or a non-GNOME (e.g. KDE) settings manager may already be active and conflicting with the GNOME settings manager." As do many other capplets - unfortunate really. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
