https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=462376 Summary: %debug_package gone Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Final Platform: All OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Development AssignedTo: pth@novell.com ReportedBy: jengelh@medozas.de QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Beta-Customer I noticed that packages in openSUSE 11, among it CUPS 1.3.9, do not have a %debug_package macro in their .spec files anymore. However, neither is RPM configured to always implicitly assume %debug_package like it does on Fedora. This means that debug info is stored in the base package, which enlarges the packages, IMO needlessy. Without %debug_package: -rw-r--r-- 1 jengelh root 2571796 Dec 23 21:41 cups-1.3.9-7.1.jen1.x86_64.rpm With: -rw-r--r-- 1 jengelh root 2020664 Dec 24 14:14 cups-1.3.9-7.1.jen1.x86_64.rpm What was the rationale behind removing %debug_package from the spec files? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
