https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=218598 Summary: Custom partitioning didn't keep existing Home partition mounted after install Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Beta 1 Platform: i386 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: ptenhoopen@adacplastics.com QAContact: jsrain@novell.com I installed beta 1 onto a Dell Inspiron 5000e which had two partitions, one with openSuse 10.1 and another with my home. I choose custom partitioning during the install, choose to delete the first partition, and replace it with 10.2 root and also to keep my existing home partition and mount it as /home. Later during the user setup, I was able to pick my existing user so it was reading my /home partition. After the first boot, I logged in with my existing user and password but my home directory didn't have my files or folders from before the install. I went back into the partitioner in YaST and had to remount my existing home partition as /home which restored access to my existing files. This could be considered a critical severity but I didn't actually lose my data. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
